Marotta's assemblies are used in hypersonic, satellite, launch vehicle, aerospace, and submarine applications. They control pneumatic stage separation, first-stage attitude control, thrust generation, fuel pressurization, and engine ignition.
At our state-of-the-art heated and air-conditioned manufacturing facility in Montville, NJ, you'll work with our cross-functional Production and Engineering teams to achieve quality and on-time delivery goals. Precision Cleaner I (2nd Shift)
Job Summary/purpose of the position:
The primary duty of the Precision Cleaner I is to handle general and precision cleaning of critical components used in mission critical functions. Cleaning shall be performed in a timely manner, according to the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor and Company Management. Work may be done on a team basis or independently whenever possible.
Essential job functions and responsibilities
  • Complete assigned jobs, as directed in a timely manner, with minimal supervision
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area (including utilization of personal protective equipment)
  • Conduct Passivation of parts in accordance with safety procedures with minimal supervision, including mixing, handling, and disposing of Passivation chemicals.
  • Successfully handle and complete multiple jobs and tasks at once with minimal supervision
  • Maintain accurate parts handling and count for each job
  • Document and support Lean ideas to improve the efficiencies and reduce cost
  • Maintain setup and operation of all required tools, including but not limited to hand tools, microscopes, etc. as trained
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment that requires repair
  • Effectively communicate issues in a timely manner to all affected internal parties
  • Participate in root cause investigations and troubleshooting activities
  • Conduct Chemical Film Conversion Coating of parts in accordance with safety procedures with minimal supervision, including mixing, handling, and disposing of Chem Film solutions.
  • Understands the basic concepts of flow benches, clean rooms, vent hood/systems and ultrasonic cleaning machines
  • Participate in root cause investigations and troubleshooting activities
  • Contributes to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal to the organization
  • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. to provide constructive recommendations and suggest actions to support company initiatives/goals
  • Independently performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) and 6S processes
  • Consistently demonstrates commitment to company values
  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
  • Complete special projects and assignments as required
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required
(Minimum Required Qualifications)
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Demonstrates high level of attention to detail, organization and ability to understand and follow work instructions
  • Position requires a detail-oriented individual who must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to read, understand and follow detailed procedures, schematics, and drawings
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills required for interacting with all levels of personnel within the organization
  • Computer literate, with MS Office experience and basic PC skills
  • Must be a US Citizen
Additional Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in precision cleaning of aerospace, medical or other precision components
  • Familiar with AS9100 and ISO standards
  • Familiar with Industrial Chemical Processing
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Experience handling precision machined parts and fracture critical items
Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids (skydrol, red-oil etc.), fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration
  • This position is frequently exposed to abrasive chemicals
  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
  • Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Work Schedule: 4-Day Work Week (Monday-Thursday), 10 hour days (3:00PM-1:30AM), OT available
  • Some local travel may be required for this position (0-10%)
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • A vision test is required
  • The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel, repeatedly and continually
  • This position requires the ability to skillfully use hand and/or power tools
  • The employee is regularly required to stand at length (4-6 hours, daily, at a minimum), sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility.
  • The employee may be required to continually and repeatedly lift, stack, push, pull and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds
This position is at our Montville, NJ corporate offices location.
