Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning for newly referred patients
  • Provision of individual and group behavioral interventions
  • Collaboration with physicians and other multidisciplinary staff for direct patient care
  • Collection of outcome data related to clinical care
  • Engagement in community outreach
  • Participation in departmental meetings and activities
  • Participation in training, supervision, and consultation activities
  • Maintaining charts on all clients in accordance with Quality Assurance policies and procedures

The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA-approved graduate program and have experience maintaining a clinical role in an outpatient psychiatry setting. Individuals trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT); who embrace a biopsychosocial model of understanding and treating psychiatric illness; have experience in obesity medicine; and are committed to program development are encouraged to apply. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical psychology or health psychology from an APA-approved graduate program.

EXPERIENCE

Individuals with experience in rehabilitation psychology and cognitive remediation; with specialty in men's physical and behavioral health; who embrace a biopsychosocial model of understanding and treating behavior, illness and the psychological effects of illness; and are committed to program development are encouraged to apply.

LICENSURE

All candidates must be license-eligible in the State of Connecticut.

Demonstrated commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork, as well as cultural competency working with diverse cultures and communities

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Physical requirements include prolonged sitting, working on computer, being on phone, some bending, stooping, reaching, stretching and minimum lifting. The work environment includes a busy atmosphere, crowded space, and significant shifting of space needs as department grows. Moderate stress attending to patient issues, schedules, and communications.
