Overview

Pharming is seeking to hire a Finance Accounting & Project Director. Our goal is to have the Finance Accounting & Project Directorharmonize the operational finance processes for Pharming's US entity as well as be the point of contact for the FP&A team regarding all operational finance related matters. Successful execution will involve monitoring the accurate and timely execution of global finance processes and ensuring the continuity of key operational activities among the operational finance team members. This position will have direct report(s) responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Accounting & Project Directorwill be responsible for a wide variety of matters in support of Pharming's growth as we increase the number of both pipeline and marketed products.

Core functions include:

  • US Monthly Close (Oversight / Review)
    • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close in the US according to the global closing calendar.
    • Support the local team members during the close and help address important matters to the global stream leads or Director, Finance Operations.
  • US Payroll Management Oversight
    • Oversight / review and sign off on monthly and ad hoc payroll and equity compensation processing.
    • Serve as one of the main points of contact for payroll and equity compensation questions for US employees.
    • Oversee payroll related audits - including annual 401k and Workers Comp audits.
    • Oversee correct and complete assessment of fringe auto benefit related to employee leased vehicles, Group Term Life fringe benefit.
    • Review and sign off on payroll related monthly accruals including PTO and Bonus schemes.
  • US Corporate Tax Oversight in close collaboration with the Global Tax Manager
    • Oversight / detailed review of IRS federal and state tax filings and internal tax provisions
    • Support in coordination with external tax advisors on data exchange and changing business dynamics.
    • Coordinate estimated tax payments on quarterly basis between e-filing, state portals, and check issuances.
    • Support in IRS federal and state audits, coordinating closely between tax advisors, GFC and CFO.
  • Support in Global Process Design PtP, OtC and RtR
    • Establish and optimizing global standards and best practices for the Finance Operation processes PtP, OtC and R2R embedded in SAP to reduce the manual effort.
    • Ensure global consistency and efficiency in close collaboration with the global stream leads PtP, OtC and RtR.
  • Change Management
    • Play a leading role in the US in facilitating and implementing changes in the PtP, OtC and RtR processes & systems and effectively manage the change within Pharming Healthcare.
  • This is a hybrid role; 2 to 3 days at Warren, NJ office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's Degree in Accounting or similar field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience accounting experience; 4+ years in industry / corporate accounting.
  • Experience with SAP, preferably SAP S/4.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of finance practices, financial regulations, and the accounting principles (US GAAP and IFRS).
  • Good understanding and familiar with SOX, internal controls, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Payroll / equity compensation experience / exposure preferred.
  • Tax reporting / filing / provisions experience / exposure preferred.
  • Familiar and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment with diverse cultures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment with a hands-on approach.
  • The ability to travel up to 5% annually.
