The Job

As CompetitiveIntelligence Manager at Own Company, you'll manage competitor intelligence efforts, create assets to showcase our advantages, and support our Go-To-Market teams. Providing regular updates to leaders, you'll inform decisions across Revenue, Product Development, and Marketing. You'll also manage third-party tools, support Win-Loss research, and collaborate with Product Marketing Managers. Your role will be essential in shaping our competitive strategy and driving growth.

Your Day-to-Day Role
  • Gather intelligence on existing and emerging competitors
  • Use that intelligence to develop informed viewpoints on the competitive landscape and the opportunities and threats therein
  • Enable colleagues in our Go-To-Market teams and partner organizations to deposition competitors and increase opportunity win rates
  • As part of those efforts to support our GTM teams and partners, create prospect facing and partner facing assets that identify and articulate key points of competitive advantage which can be used to help generate sales pipeline, convert open sales opportunities to closed won and retain existing customers
  • Deliver regular, tailored competitive updates to leaders in our Revenue, Product Development and Marketing teams, helping them to make informed strategic and tactical decisions regarding market opportunities and competitive threats
  • Support our existing program of Win-Loss research by undertaking interviews with new customers and lost prospects
  • Manage the provider of our third-party competitive intelligence tool and other providers as required, such that we maximize the return on our investments with them
  • Collaborate with our Product Marketing Managers to deliver insights that inform their product roadmaps and messaging
Your Work Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in Competitive Intelligence or similar field
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or market research
  • Strong customer focus - our customers are internal teams and it is imperative we deliver a great service and experience
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with colleagues, partners and customers
  • Good planning and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Demonstrable use of various research techniques - primary and secondary - to generate informed insights
Important Details

This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will work out of ourEnglewood Cliffs, NJ office a minimum of 3 days per week to maximize collaboration and interaction with the business. Travel may be required.
