Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Genetic Counselor - **Obs/Gyn-IVF**.

In this role, the successful candidate, under the direction of the Manager for Reproductive Genetics, will provide genetic counseling support and direct patient counseling to patients/partners and affiliated persons undergoing fertility treatment cycles at the NYULH fertility program.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provides genetic counseling and case coordination for preimplantation genetic testing,family/medical history indications, carrier screening, gamete donation, and products of conception.

2. Works closely with third-party reproduction/donor egg team to screen egg donors, coordinate testing, write reports, and manage cases of new genetic information or adverse events in donor-conceived offspring.

3. Reviews and interprets genetic test results and communicates risk assessment to patients and physicians.

4. Documents discussions and lab results in patient charts.

5. Provides high-quality patient care in collaboration with other fertility department faculty and staff, includingreproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, nurses, and admin.

6. Liaises with genetic testing laboratories, and coordinates additional patient testing as needed.

7. Assists with relevant research studies, abstract writing, and development of patient/staff educational materials.

8. Supervises genetic counseling graduate students as needed.

9. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

1.Masters degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited training program. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

2.American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) board-certified or board-eligible

3.Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook

4.Fast learner with an interest to specialize in assisted reproductive technologies

5.Exceptional verbal and written communication

6.Impeccable attention to detail

7.Ability to excel in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment

8.Self-motivated and able to work independently

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1. Masters degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited training program.
2. American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) board-certified
3. One Year clinical of lab genetic counseling experience.

Preferred Licenses: Certified Genetic Counselor

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Carrier screening, PGT-A and PGT-M

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $88,192.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
