- Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned research institution, seeks a highly motivated dedicated individual to work in a state-of-the-art Microscopy Shared Resource.
- Position Responsibilities
The individual should have extensive practical expertise in biological sample preparation for transmission and scanning electron microscopy including fixation and embedding, thin sectioning, serial sectioning, immune-electron microscopy, negative staining, etc. Hands-on knowledge of confocal and widefield fluorescence microscopy would also be a plus.
The candidate will help users design innovative experiments in the areas of cancer research, neuroscience, and plant biology, including working with samples from mouse models and human patient-derived organoids. They will carry out sample preparation and imaging as well as assist in data interpretation. There are ample opportunities for co-authorship on research publications.- Position Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology or related discipline using transmission electron microscopy.
Experience: One to three years of experience working in a Microscopy Shared Resource is preferred.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with multiple users in a supporting role, and ability to work independently and proactively with limited supervision are essential.- Supplemental Information

The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
