What You Will Do:

The Manager of Sales Planning, Lancome D2C will be tasked with instilling a data-driven approach to sales planning and forecasting to ensure we meet the needs of our consumer at every touchpoint. This individual will be the key owner of the sales planning, forecasting and supply chain for Lancome D2C.


Job Duties and Accountabilities

  • Manage the end-to-end sales forecasting process for Lancome D2C, leveraging key KPIs such as Sales revenue, Traffic, Conversion, AOV, unit sell thru, and weeks of supply.
  • Create, update, and distribute streamlined, clear, and consistent business recaps on a weekly basis, with emphasis on performance drivers and actions taken. Ensure that the latest forecasts and calendar shifts are communicated consistently across the appropriate teams and channels.
  • Leverage KPIs and data to identify, quantify, and communicate business opportunities/risks and corresponding solutions to the D2C Team on a weekly basis.
  • Build the assortments for all promotional events based on historical performance, available inventory, category priorities, and topline sales plans.
  • Lead and monitor the inventory process for all LCOM stock, including replenishment product, one-time buys, and clearance inventory. Move the LCOM assortment strategy forward with both Demand Planning and PFS. Set the cadence for deliverables and stakeholder meetings.
  • Proactively partner with D2C leadership, LCOM Team, and Product Marketing teams to ensure that the Brand's vision is brought to life and consumer's needs are met.
  • Ensure seamless ordering and inbound process for launches, samples, gift with purchase, and replenishment product for Lancome D2C to support events, everyday sales, and national launches.
  • Consistently identify opportunities for automation and efficiencies across the Luxe D2C planner organization.
  • Serve as the main liaison between D2C and the Demand Planning team: share the sales plans (weekly/monthly/yearly) and align on the accurate inventory levels by SKU to achieve those plans.
  • Prepare and present the Supply Chain strategy on behalf of Lancome D2C
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the Lancome consumer, always using data to inform new ideas and business decisions.

Key Challenges, Issues and Complexity

  • This individual is creative and analytical. This person will work closely with the Site Merchant and Lancome D2C team to develop the in-stock assortment that will enable D2C to meet its financial commitments.
  • The individual must possess the ability to pivot quickly as this function is in constant evolution and the landscape is changing by the minute. This person must embody the L'Oreal values of 'test and learn' and 'fail fast' to learn the dynamics of what makes the D2C business unique.
  • This individual is excited to dig into the data and identify learnings and insights that will help the greater division and its brands identify risks and opportunities while developing strong cross functional relationships.
  • This individual has strong time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, often-changing environment. This individual is also a proactive problem-solver, with the ability to anticipate obstacles and quickly generate alternate solutions. And finally, this individual is a communicator and collaborator, able to work seamlessly across the Demand Planning and Inventory teams to ensure in-stock is maintained.


What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • College Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a role focusing on sales planning, forecasting or a similar function; experience with direct-to-consumer businesses is a plus
  • Strong knowledge and skill with Microsoft Excel necessary; knowledge of other MS Office tools a plus
  • Expert knowledge and skill with data, data management, data activation and statistics, particularly as it relates to eCommerce and consumer analytics; experience with Amazon is a plus
  • Strong knowledge and skill with creating projections & detailed forecasts
  • Ability to lead presentations and effectively analyze and translate data into actionable business plans
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to prioritize initiatives and anticipate business needs
  • Strong Project management background to manage the everchanging digital retail landscape and to build a standard best practice across our luxury brands
  • Ability to build effective partnerships and interact successfully with diverse individuals at all levels
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights and optimizations
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, innovatively, and creatively using sound business judgment and quantitative skills
