Overview	The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics. Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Phlebotomist for the Department of Nutritional Sciences. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Performs phlebotomy services in support of a research study involving human participants. Prepares patients before drawing blood. Explains blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process. Follows all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas. Gathers medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes. Verifies patient information and labeling blood samples properly.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications	Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician. Experience with effective puncture techniques. Understanding of proper patient identification methods. Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples and use of relevant medical equipment and material.
