Position Description

We are seeking a Senior Account Associate - Alternatives to support the Alternatives Account Manager in business development and investor relations for PIMCO's alternative investment products. In this role, you will be a key resource both internally and externally, addressing inquiries related to these products from home office research teams and business professionals.

Your responsibilities will include acting as the subject matter expert for our US Global Wealth Management (GWM) Strategic Account Managers and Account Associates. You will collaborate closely in servicing existing alternative investment advisors, educating advisors, and supporting new business initiatives. A crucial success factor for this role is the ability to confidently interact with senior leadership across various departments including GWM, Portfolio Management, Product Strategy, Legal, Operations, and offshore client-facing teams.

Additional responsibilities encompass preparing for meetings, drafting briefing memos, managing CRM queries, maintaining pipeline and business reports, responding to questionnaires, and undertaking special projects.

  • PIMCO Investment Professionals: This includes US GWM Strategic Accounts AMs, US GWM Alternatives Specialists, US GWM Field and Internal Sales, Alternatives Product Strategists, and Portfolio Managers

  • Other PIMCO Professionals: Collaborate with Legal & Compliance, Marketing, and Operations teams

  • External Key Accounts: Engage with major intermediaries such as wirehouses, private banks and independent broker-dealers. Contacts include research and diligence professionals, product management, business personnel, and operations staff

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Become a subject matter expert on PIMCO's alternative products to effectively address client and prospect inquiries

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks while adhering to tight deadlines

  • Assist in managing key relationships to aid business development efforts

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service, responding promptly and with urgency to both internal and external requests

  • Forge strong relationships with internal teams such as the Product Strategy Group, Relationship Managers, and Compliance to facilitate information flow and response to inquiries

  • Query, analyze, and maintain business information reports to support internal reporting needs

  • Utilize advanced tools including Excel (spreadsheets and macros), CRM, and external databases effectively for various special projects

  • Develop and implement consistent, repeatable processes to enhance confidence in analysis and operational efficiency

  • Analyze and present data compellingly using Excel and PowerPoint

  • Maintain and enhance relationships with key vendors such as iCapital, CAIS, and +Subscribe

Role Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, with a preference for majors in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Accounting

  • Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain the FINRA Series 7, 3, and 63 licenses within three months of employment commencement

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the alternatives, credit, or real estate markets required. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a robust interest in and knowledge of alternative investment structures and strategies. Alternatively, applicants actively pursuing a CFA or CAIA designation will be favorably considered

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Salary Range: $ 95,000.00 - $ 140,500.00
