| Job Description: The position requires a fundamental but thorough knowledge of commercial lines products, a basic understanding of the risk evaluation process, and a good working knowledge of automated rating systems, as well as proficiency using common software programs such as Excel, Word, etc. This person is responsible for understanding and managing various sub-processes and meet specific service standards on a daily basis. This position reports to the Operations Manager and provides technical and process support to one or more underwriting teams including: new, renewal, and endorsement processing, policy processing, rating, customer service, and management of one or more sub-processes. In some cases, this position may provide coordination of UT processes such as policy issuance. The successful UA will provide superior customer service to internal and external customers, enjoy performing many tasks, and thrive on a fast-paced team environment. . Key Accountability: 1. Perform policy rating as needed on one or more rating systems 2. Basic underwriting skills for BOP, CPP or Commercial Auto and accountability for low level underwriting decision-making 3. EXCEL and WORD proficiency 4. Leadership responsibilities for UT coordination 5. Answer customer calls and respond to other correspondence 6. Review and prepare files for underwriting review 7. Understand and apply underwriting guidelines 8. Show teamwork by supporting other underwriters or support staff to achieve overall department goals 9. Manage many tasks and processes on a daily basis |
